I wonder if you can possibly help as help from my own solicitor has dried up. I have owned my leasehold property for 11 years; it is a split terrace, my house is back to back at bottom, through by light at top. I access from the front and my neighbour access from rear, they mainly own the cellar area.
I have had my property on the market for 7 months and sold it twice and am getting disheartened as the buyers keep pulling out. I think this is due to the fact it is leasehold (although no rent payable and runs for 125 years from 1989) but the people named on my lease say they have no connection to the property; one of the named people cannot be found either. I have done a land registry search and it still leads me to the same people.
I would ideally like to buy the lease (I have been there 11 years and this may make it easier to sell on). I have asked my Solicitor to look into it and they never call me back. I'm hoping the freehold could default to me, do you think this is possible? Any help you can give would be very much appreciated.
