Georgian

Georgian

The vast majority of people in the UK list this as their favourite type of architecture.

Yet this is a period that only covers 100 years (from George I to George IV). Unless you really know your stuff, you are likely to put both the Queen Anne style (1702-14) and the Regency period (1812-20) in this era as well.

The Georgian style has much to appeal to it such as pleasing lines and high ceilinged rooms and large windows that ensure lighter rooms.

Cities that are dominated by Georgian architecture include Bath, Edinburgh and London.
