Gartcosh is a quiet upmarket town on the outskirts of Glasgow. According to the Glasgow Herald one of the "up and coming town" in Scotland (March 2007). A new train station has been built and a lot of money is set aside for the area to add to the existing facilities. There is an excellent Primary School which consistently gets excellent HMI reports. The old Gartloch Estate is currently being developed into a luxury village with Village green and pub. This is in close proximity to Gartcosh.
