Review of the area

The WA8 postcode covers the whole of Widnes, but Farnworth is just a small village within this town. It is close to junctions 6 and 7 of the M62, and junction 12 of the M56. There are also plenty of bus links and Widnes train station is in Farnworth.

Farnworth is quite quiet and has a community feel to it, there are quite a lot of families here and a lot of older residents, but we (aged 28 and 32) do not feel out of place here and there never seems to be any trouble.

Although the place is relatively quiet, there are plenty of amenities. Widnes has a town centre with various high street stores and a market, also plenty of quality restaurants. There is not far to travel to nearby Warrington which has a recently refurbished shopping centre, also Liverpool and Manchester are not far either.

People are sometimes put off by the fact that Widnes has a lot of industrial factories etc, but they are mostly in South Widnes and Farnworth is as far north as Widnes goes.

Also good schools - Wade Deacon secondary school has a very good reputation.
