Blackwood/Pontllanfraith/Oakdale.I have lived here all my life. the area has become a race track for youngsters and gang culture has developed, only not against each other,but against the general public. abuse hurling gangs roam the streets of many of the areas at night. there is the typical "small town" mind as "i gotta blacker one than you got" with regards to peoples competitive nature toward each other. the gangs of middle aged men who "chance the drinking/pulling trip to the city" in one of the typical white taxi/mini buses, can be seen every weekend, as they herd like middle aged sheep into the local pub, awaiting to slaughter the city lambs! or get slaughtered and roll in drunk more like!..only to be kicked out, and have to go to "Mams" until the missus calms down...what a life you will have in Blackwood! The small town mentality is contagious - be warned - there are beautiful home wreckers awaiting new blood stock from the immigrating men, bringing a change to their broods of neighbours and family-members offsprings. oh! get me on that new train out of Newbridge into finer parts of Wales!
