Review of Torbay

Torbay is a bay that faces east and is located at the western end of Lyme Bay. Torbay is popular for its beautiful beaches and mild climate. Located in South West England, Torbay is bordered by South Hams and Teignbridge. The bay boasts a population of approximately 133,000 people with almost 99 percent being reported as White.

Torbay is a popular spot for recreational water activities. The bay also attracts a large number of students each year. The area stands out due to the unique palm trees that grow in the region. The trees are grown in other areas but are a very prominent sight at the bay.

Torbay’s economy is dependent on several factors. Tourism is big business in the area along with a successful port, and the traditional fishing industry. Torbay also boasts a thriving service industry as well.

Torbay provides three railway stations that operate on the National Rail network and provide service in and around the region. The three local stations are the Torre railway station, the Torquay railway station and the Paignton railway station. Torbay does not provide direct roadway links to surrounding areas. Instead, travelers must utilize the A380 road from Exeter. The road is somewhat inadequate during peak tourist seasons. Torbay does receive bussing service in the area.

Torbay was home to famous author Agatha Christie, Charles Kingsley and Rudyard Kipling. The bay has seen its fair share of celebrity residents through the years including supermodel Lily Cole
